Setting up a mirror

Each mirror needs a personal automation in Apple's Shortcuts app. Impulse Mirror walks you through it step by step, with a picture of every tap. Open the app, tap Add a Mirror, pick the app you want to notice, and follow along.

The reflection isn't appearing

Check the automation is on. In Shortcuts, open the Automation tab and confirm the automation for that app exists and runs immediately.

Check you're not paused. If you paused reflections for an hour or a day, the mirror stays quiet until the pause ends. Reaches still count.

Re-run the setup. Open the mirror for that app and tap Fix setup. It re-checks each step and shows you the one that needs attention.

Voice notes

Transcription happens on your device and needs microphone and speech recognition permissions. If the mic button does nothing, check Settings → Impulse Mirror and turn both on.
